Heee,
I am back. This time with our Pink Night.
At the beginning of the season people started talking about Pink Night, to be honest I had no clue what it was. I kind of guessed that this night was about breast cancer but I did not know for sure. Well it seems I was right.
Pink Night is always in October, because the month of October is about honoring people who died of breast cancer, survived it or women who are still fighting. against this illness. I have a lot respect for all these ladies and for the fact that Princeville High School organizes this night.
There were some things we did specially for Pink Night. For example the JV (junior varsity) and the Freshmen team got special "Volley For The Cure" T-shirts. The girls in the middle with the white shirts, have a white shirt because they are the liberos. One girl is the libero of the JV team and the other girl is the libero of the Varsity team. A libero is a player, who only plays back-row. These players are mostly very good at digging balls and passing.
So the JV team and the Freshmen team got t-shits, we as the Varsity team, we got jersey's. I really love those jersey's. The player of the Varsity team got their number on the front and the back, their name is also on the back. The fun thing is that I also got a jersey! Not with a number though, just with my name. I thought it was so cool, because I never really had a jersey with my name on it, because I do not really play a sport in the Netherlands where you play in jersey's.
Another thing that we did was pretty special. I really like that we did this. We gave roses to the survivors of breast cancer and for the people who fought really hard but lost the fight, we put roses in a vase. I really like that we honored all these people and the roses were a really nice symbol.
We played the game itself against United. For Varsity this was a pretty important game, because if we would win this game we would be second in the conference.
The Freshmen team lost their game in three sets, they played pretty good but United is a really strong team. The JV team won in 2 sets! They played really strong. After the JV team it was our turn and we knew that this was going to be a tough game, because United is undefeated just like Whetersfield. The reason for the fact is that they are both undefeated is because they have not played each other yet. They will play each other this Monday (October 16).
Well this may not come as a surprise but we lost the game. And we lost in two sets. But oh my... everyone played so good, Not just the Princeville team but the United team too. Their coach approached our coach after the game and she said that Princeville really made United have to work for their win. That is a really big compliment.
We played good and now we are third in the conference which is amazing. Hopefully we will do great in regionals and make sectionals. I am so not ready for volleyball season to be over.

I still have to finish the Homecoming article. There is so much to tell about Homecoming! I did have a blast there.
I will keep you posted!
x Lieve
